Frequently Asked Questions

I’m not quite sure what legal help I need. Do you charge for consultations?

I offer a fifteen (15) minute free phone consultation so we can determine what your legal needs are and get to know each other.

Do you charge by the hour?

In most cases, I will provide a flat fee quote for the services to be provided. If for any reason I believe the services will exceed the quote, we’ll have a conversation first. In some instances, it just makes sense to charge an hourly rate. We’ll always have a conversation first before moving forward. No surprises.

Who do you work with?

I work with entrepreneurs and small business in British Columbia.

Where is your office?

While I live on Vancouver Island, I operate completely remotely and my firm is completely digital except in the rare case paper is still required. We can meet via video or phone, whatever your preference. If you’re ever in Courtenay, BC, let’s meet for coffee.

How will I sign documents if needed?

In order to save our trees and make our lives easier, Wild Coast Law uses e-signatures and e-docs wherever possible.

How can I book a call?

Easy, click here for a link to my calendar.

How can I hire you as my lawyer?

Once we have a call, and we decide it’s a good fit, I will send my form of client retainer letter to you for review and signature. No lawyer-client relationship is formed until this document is signed, so please don’t send confidential or detailed emails to me before I’m retained.
